Well, it’s official. Bestetti can now be bought at the click of a mouse (or touch pad) on your computer, all thanks to Spiga3, whom have just introduced the legendary maker into their shop in Gothenburg, Sweden. I am quite pleased about this too as it presents a nice alternative in the online footwear scene. And it would appear that everyone is trying to get someone new in their shop, that no one else has, because unfortunately as the world becomes more and more digital, it is all too easy to buy a shoe at the click of a mouse, which means that instead of going to your corner shop, you can do it from your couch. So gone are the days of everyone wanting to carry the same thing as it creates too much “digital world” competition. Now let’s see who will start carrying Paolo Scafora to be the next shop to introduce an Italian maker that no one else is carrying.
Nonetheless, as a friend of Bestetti I am happy to see him breaking into the shops in the hopes to see his beautiful shoes worn by more people. He makes a downright exquisite shoe, and at 700 for a fully handmade shoe, I can’t say that anything else comes even close to it. Fyi, for all of those in an English speaking country intrigued by these, let me say that everyone at the Spiga3 shop speaks perfect English and are very helpful so don’t be afraid to email them up for help.
Happy shopping!
