In this new unboxing video, we take a look at CNES’s new lasts, models, and detailed finishing on the new S Last Collection. CNES has been busy upgrading their hand welted collection and it shows immensely. Here are two of their latest models on their new and improved S last. The new collection features new finishing details that are reminiscent of bespoke shoes.
CNES New Lasts – The S Series
CNES has worked hard to produce 4 new lasts in the new S series. Their fit is exceptionally better IMHO than their previous lasts. which I always felt had an excess amount of volume. They have made these new lasts far more hugging and ‘handgrade’ feeling. And for my feet, they are much more comfortable.

The New Heel Block
CNES updated the heel block, giving it the shoemaker’s cut, which is defined by a 40-degree cut (ish). You never see this in factory-made shoes as this is truly created by ‘hand-work’. It is impressive to get these details in shoes that cost under $500 no less. It will be one of those things that some might not like but for those that do, it is a nice feature to get without going fully handmade bespoke!

Better Finishing
CNES has worked to improve their sole, and overall finishing on the leather. They have created a new fiddleback waist that akin to the original style of it and has done a better job at their leather coloring. These subtle detail changes elevate the collection. While some might not even notice these changes, they will appreciate them when wearing the shoes.
CNES new lasts and detailing are a promising touch to the future of the brand which I know is always working hard to improve its products!

I placed an order at a CNES trunk show four month ago. Paid.
I never had any update save the confirmation email. The order was never sent. They don’t answer emails.
Be wary.
You ordered at the trunk shows in France in May? They told me there was a delay with the leathers. I am sorry they did not respond to your email but I have reached out and they said they will be responding soon. For sure you will get your shoes
In april yes.
I can understand delays. I less understand not advising your client of these delays. I even less understand not answering emails. A simple automatic answer would have been appreciated.
They messaged me. They are going to issue a refund.
Thanks a lot
Happy to have helped in the end, but clearly not the desired outcome. Sorry for your experience.
I am not trying to cover them but there are A LOT of delays happening in leather. I just went to buy 200 sq ft of a very popular leather from a 3rd party supplier (big company) and couldn’t even supply me as they said that the tannery was delayed in sending them and did not expect to be fulfilled for 2 more months, which is crazy. So it is real, to be honest. But yes, commmunication is always key.
