It has been a while since CNES has launched anything new, but they recently uploaded a ton of new Hand Welted models to their website. I had the pleasure of seeing many of them in person during the London Super Trunk Show and they were exquisite. It is great to see how far CNES has come since the first shoe they sent me for unboxing. I say this with sincerity: It is impressive to see how they have progressed in skill. I will touch more on that in my upcoming unboxing videos. Stay tuned.

I love the progression of their designs, with unique ghillie styles, hand-stitched Adelaide whole cuts, a new hatchgrain lazyman, and the like. Their design is right up my alley, as are the last shapes. They have good shape without being overly aggressive in length or shortness. A well-balanced last is hard to achieve, but I dare say the most important part of your footwear.

I have a hard time deciding which one is my favorite of the new hand welted models. I really love the Adelaide with the hand-stitched facing. I love a simple, clean oxford with a plain toe and added medallion. So hard to beat that. But that new ghillie model is next-level cool! A ghillie style is not for everyone but I love the uniqueness of it. I really love the coloring of the black with a touch of burgundy detail. It’s like they were reading my mind on that one!

The downside is that many of these new CNES hand welted models are not readily available. They are orderable models with a three-month wait time. I know that is a tough pill to swallow for many. But that is the reality of business in the shoe world these days. So don’t worry about that wait time and get those orders in!
