Hi Justin,
I have two questions for you who is in the know when it comes to shoes: 1. do you understand why the St Crispin RTW are astronomically so expensive? 2. at your cocktail party there was a guy whose shoes seemed to me to be bespoke. See here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1J_HJetLuic/UVCI29Cq9mI/AAAAAAAAMSY/FcCSO6o1sY8/s1600/DSC_6790.jpg
Aren’t they?
Again, it was a very good idea having managed to gather guys of all walk of life, and obviously all being well crafted shoe lovers!
Thanks for your reply.
John
Are the last couple of pictures, by any chance, of your new “chiseled” last? The colours and styles look very familiar, and if it is part of your next range, I like the look of it a lot!
The red with brown suede saddle is a new last and style for JF.
I trust those who do favour bespoke shoes today move in posh circles and work full hours. Not seen often outside the office, club, restaurant or venue of choice.
John – Saint Cripsins are expensive because they are entirely made by hand. Nearly a bespoke shoe, but have RTW lasts, although you can have your last adusted too, which makes them close to bespoke…of course they are also using the highest quality leathers…. As per the other guy, yes I am pretty sure that they were his bepsoke Foster & Son shoes….. Glad that you enjoyed the pics…thanks for commenting!
Alex B – The last shoe certainly isn’t mine…they are Corthay…but yes, that burgundy saddle is, and yes it is on my new chiseled last! Glad that you like it…will put up better pics soon.
MarkLA – -precisely, only that they are burgundy and charcoal suede…
Ville – true true…but I work in an area that is filled with those posh circles…yet i still dont see them….
