I have been recently noticing a rise in using the color purple in Made to Order shoes. Whether it is suede or calfskin, more and more customers are asking for it, but always in a very strong, Regal type purple like this pair of John Lobb’s for Australian shoe store, Double Monk. I can’t claim to own anything in purple myself but I do quite like it, especially in suede. I would imagine that a leather/suede combination boot would be nice as I wear mainly grey and navy trousers which I feel purple pairs very well with both of these. Interesting to see the sole choice on this pair featured as the more common color would be a dark brown edging. This natural sole edging really makes the purple pop out more as the more subdued dark brown would leave it less striking. Bet the customer gets a lot of compliments!
Would you wear purple shoes?
Maybe not completely purple, but I wear these mostly eggplant colored shoes regularly (after having coloured them myself this way).
How can I get a pair of these?
You will need to get in touch with John Lobb or a reseller such as Skoaktiebolaget
