I have recently come back from my trip to Singapore, which was a great time and a huge success. So much so that we will now be returning regularly for our Super Trunk Show series there. As I had not been for nearly 10 years, I decided to land a few days earlier and catch up on seeing what I had missed in those 10 years. The CNES Shop was among my first visits.

I have been working with CNES for a while now as one of the supporters of the blog. I have seen them many times around the world at our various trunk shows, but I never had the pleasure of visiting their shop in Singapore and seeing the goodies in person. They have a very nice and large shop in the Kampong Glam neighborhood of Singapore, which is just a stone’s throw from the famous Marina Bay. Here, they showcase their entire lineup of shoes that you will find on the site. You might find some missing in these pictures as they had already packed up for the Trunk Show, namely their Handwelted Samples.

At the CNES Shop, I discussed with Alan Lee, the owner, about their offering there. They run a successful shoe repair service, where they can repair any shoes brought to them. They have a full setup in the back, with Goodyear and Blake Stitch machines. For their hand welted range, those must be sent back to the factory in Vietnam. But their service is not exclusive to their own shoes.

For those that may not know, CNES also runs another business called Straits Establishment, which is the official distributor of Saphir in Singapore. That is why their collection of Saphir products is so large, as you can see in the photos. I didn’t know they also offered leather goods. Some cool pieces are floating around the shop. Those long wallets with patina are pretty cool! As are the quilted backpacks.

If you are local to Singapore and haven’t been to the CNES Shop, I suggest checking it out, and if you are soon making a trip there, certainly give them a visit. They have a lot of great stuff and offer some of the best value for money shoes in Asia!

I’ve always appreciated their sole work. I like the cap toe and wingtip balmorals. Happy to hear of the Singapore Super Trunk Show success. Looking forward to seeing some videos.
Thanks Arthur! Kirby should have those videos coming soon 😉
