Gaziano & Girling have recently set the bar high by creating something that is truly the first of its kind. Named the ‘Molto Monk,’ the idea of it was to offer a seamless wholecut monkstrap that has an interchangeable strap. (It is not really a true seamless, but the strap covers the seam thus obtaining the appearance of something that is seamless.) The way in which they had to execute this idea was quite different as they bascially had to put a sunken screw in the waist of the shoe, allowing you to detach and reattach different colored/material straps. For me its absoluetly brilliant as I am one of those people that really likes to match and would love the idea of being able to change the strap based on what I am wearing.
To get down to the nitty gritty, the shoe will unfortunately be bespoke only. The price will start at 4500 and will go up depending on how many straps you would like to order. Therefore, while many of you might very well appreciate it as I do, the unfortunate but is that very few of us can afford it! Nevertheless it is great to see innovation in footwear!
On another note, a few weeks back I slightly touched on another Sample Sale by Gaziano & Girling, but one of which will now collaborate with Bespoke England. As the last sample sale, it will take place at Timothy Everest’s shop at 32 Elder st., London E1 6BT, where myself and TE will also be selling some of our products too. However the focus of this sale will be more about G&G and their products. There will be a good amount of stock (of which I have no clue as to what exactly so please dont ask me) and this might very well be the last sale of its kind with them. The dates will be the 12th/13th of March and the times will be Thurs 8am-6pm and Fri 9am-6pm.
Look forward to seeing many of you there!
Very cool concept.
