The 1stshoe brand that I am showcasing for ourLondon Super Trunk Show 2020is one that I have been most thoroughly impressed with as of late. Although they have been around for a long time, I feel that in 2019 they really started to show their true potential as shoemakers. And this is none other than,Altan Bottier, of Paris.
They were supposed to come to the show last year but unfortunately due to strikes in the French transportation system could not get on the train that they planned to take to get to London. Let’s hope that this year is not the same as I, like many of you, are excited to see them!
Like many otherFrench shoemakers, they specialize in patina, but what makes them stand apart from many other shoemakers is their ability to put beautiful patinas on patent leather and suede. I am particularly fond of their suede wholecut oxfords that have patina on them, as you can see the pictures. The patent patina is always impressive but not really my cup of tea. And the color options are endless as one would expect from patina, but what I love is the actual vividness of them. There is no mistaking a color of theirs as it is bold and strong and not for the faint of heart!
The shoes are blake stitched but to a very high standard, better than most of what I have seen out there. The leather is of top grade French calfskin. Youcan read a review about them herefrom a pair that I received a few years back. I was most thoroughly impressed as one might expect from my words in this post. More recently I have been wearing the boots highlighted and love them!
We are excited to have them apart of this year’s show and are sure that many of you will find their shoes to not only be attractive but of good quality and something refreshingly different to what you commonly find in the market today. I can imagine many of you getting a pair of suede wholecuts when you come, and you can thank me later 😊 ! (prices around €600)
