Justin I have a question which I hope you will be able to help me with as you understand the construction process of a Goodyear welter shoe and have toured factories and so on. The heel stack on a high end Goodyear welted shoe began to ‘peel off’ from one corner meaning I had to return to the manufacturer for a repair. This was a ridgeway sole by the way. Do you know how they would go about replacing the heel stack? Is it a big job?
I’ve read around this topic but most posts concentrate on the attaching of the sole and not the heel. I’m wondering if it’s bolted in from the inside of the shoe, if that’s the case how would they access the inside of the shoe to do this repair without ripping the cork footbed up first? Confused reader 🙁
