HAPPY NEW YEAR MY DEAR READERS!!!
I hope that all of you had a great holiday season and that you are ready for a great 2014! I know that I am!
To kick it off, I thought that I would share with you some beautiful bespoke Berluti’s that were commissioned by a dear blog reader. The first pair shown at the top, needless to say, is utterly brilliant (without exaggeration). Not only have I never seen those beautiful little designs on the eyelet’s before but neither have I seen the color mauve used so brilliantly especially on a pair of shoes no less! It truly is a work of art. What is interesting is the fact that while many of you might think that since it is Berluti that it therefore just might be a creation of Anthony Delos, but they are in fact made and designed by another one of their master shoemakers, named Patrice Rock.
While I can’t say that I am the biggest fan of Berluti RTW shoes for the simple fact that I feel that they are extremely overpriced and since the departure of Olga Berluti as head of the company it has seemed to take a turn for the worse, I cannot deny the fact that �they still do make very nice and well made bespoke shoes. And these unique beauties are proof of that! Hopefully one day soon (maybe the next time I go to Paris), I will actually have the pleasure of visiting the bespoke workshop and seeing where the magic happens. Only shame will be that Delos won’t be there!
Here’s to the start of a great 2014 with many exciting things to come for the new year! Just to let you know, as soon as I think of a fun way to do it, I will be giving away a free pair of shoes!! So be on the look out!

Patrice is a long time shoemaker with Berluti and if I’m not mistaken he only takes orders in Paris, while Anthony takes orders for London, Japan and Middle-East. LVMH has the annual open house of their craft in June/July and Berluti is part of it.
