People don’t usually think of loafers in the Winter but they should not go slept on for an entire season unless you live in places like Canada or Russia where the snowfall is more common than not. But for those of you in places like California or the warmer climates that don’t really see a temperature below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, I don’t see why a loafer can’t be warm on one of those chilly yet sunny days that are so incredibly bliss that you forgot it is even Winter!
These tassel versions here, by Crockett & Jones, are the perfect examples of a well executed winter loafer. Grain leather is always seen as a heavier material more common used for harsh weather, although this is a misconception on the heaviness of it as it is typically equal to a calfskin. So it is no surprise to see it here and the shade of brown that they have used is quite exquisite! Black suede is a favorite of mine and it is good to see it offered in RTW as it is a choice of suede not often used to reasons unbeknownst to me. But good to see C&J ignoring that fact and offering it nonetheless. For those of you in the market for a Winter loafer, look no further!
