Yellow suede loafers are probably not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking to get a new pair of shoes. It’s probably not even in the top 20. I feel like unless yellow is absolutely your favorite color, thinking about adding a yellow suede shoe to your collection means that you probably already own every other color. And that sounds about right for me as I am looking at yellow suede differently now, thinking ‘hmmm, what would I wear those with?!’
I caught wind of these beautiful tassel loafers by Bocache e Salvucci and found myself liking them. Now, I am not a stranger to yellow shoes. Back in my early 20s, I was quite the animal and wore stuff that was as bold as can be. I had these banana-yellow Prada loafers that I used to love (I was crazy then ;-). Not to mention my yellow Sperry loafers, which I would still love to this day if I knew where the heck they disappeared to. In actuality, I often like yellow, to a degree.
Then I recalled these striking mustard yellow braided loafers I made for a good client of mine, also not afraid to go bold, and it made me think: ‘how would a butterfly loafer look in yellow suede?’ And that has me thinking: Summer 2024 or too much? I find it funny that in Summer we are so prepared to be way more bold than we are the rest of the year. It’s like the Sun affects our brain, ideally in a good way 😉
Now, I need another pair of shoes, like I need a hole in the head so have to commit to selling at least 50 pairs before sampling some yellow suede. But if I was to order one, what model should I get them in? Leave your comments below!
