Twinkima.G and Dormeuil, French cloth/fabric manufacturer, have recently teamed up for a very cool collaboration on a new cloth that they have released in Baby Alpaca. It is very interesting to see such a new shoe brand teaming up with one of the world’s most renowned cloth makers. It shows the desire for growth and recognition and cool collaborations like this can certainly help! Let’s take a look.

The Twinkima.G and Dormeuil collaboration offers two, new models for the Twinkima.G brand: One lovely classic balmoral boot and 2. A more playful and casual penny loafer. Both are equally fun and fitting for this unique collaboration. I really cannot say which one I prefer. Historically speaking the balmoral boot would have won in a heartbeat but as I am aging, I find myself gravitating toward loafers more often than not. Those black loafers could find themself in use quite a bit!

The cloth would appear to be an exclusive for the Twinkima.G range as I do not see it on offer on the Dormeuil website. I really like the two-tone check. The Houndstooth is a classic but that two-tone check really grabs your attention and sits particularly well with the black suede loafer. The balmoral boot is obviously cool, but it is definitely a bold statement. Not that I am shy to that, but I will be very curious to know how it performs.
Each model comes in whole sizes only and spans 38 to 46. That is equivalent to a US5 to US13. From what I know of the loafers, they have a generous toe box but a snug instep. I have tried the size 40, which was the correct size (half size down from my usual). The balmoral boots most likely run more true to size, as the lazyman’s that I reviewed were, leaving me to believe that if you generally fall into a half size, you probably want to size up for the boots as feel that the half size down will simply be too restricting. In a loafer you can get away with restricting but in a balmoral boot it is a lot harder to break those in when they feel tight. That is my general feeling about it. Definitely double check with Twinkima.G though.

I always love to see collaborations like Twinkima.G and Dormeuil, between shoe brands and cloth/suit brands. It just makes sense and offers something a bit more fun and unique for those that like to spice it up a bit. This definitely offers you that spice. Question is, which one would you go for?

That is fantastic value as the prices for the boots are the same with this amazing fabric. They would be my choice without hesitation.
