Camouflage has been quite popular as of lately, particularly in dress casual footwear. I have never really been a huge fan of it myself, nor the idea of wearing it, but that has never stopped me from appreciating it, particularly when it’s done in a manner such as this one here by Mr. Alexander Nurulaeff of Dandy Shoe Care. The pink tongue addition was a nice touch that I think helps to separate it from the idea of just being a camouflage shoe, allowing it to be differentiated from the rest. As this is now the second time a patina artist has shown their abilities to do this, I feel that it is going to be something that all of them try, in the hopes to be reigned as King of the Camouflage. The only question is, will people start commissioning it?????
Dear Justin, thanks again for your interest in my Art. To answer your question, yes I’ve received already a few commissions for a ‘Life is a Jungle’ Patina.
Have a good weekend
Alexander Nurulaeff
Beautiful and not tacky looking in any manner (camo can be really tacky)
I would prefer to see this on a bag. With shoes, its difficult to match around
I just found your blog when looking for some advice on whether or not to buy some suede shoes. I am really loving looking at all the beautiful brogues. Although I am woman I really love smart menswear and would wear so many of these myself (if in my size and had more money etc etc -the principle remains!)
Following now. 🙂
Alexander – No worries Alexander, it’s great stuff you are doing! Thanks for writing.
Mystical – Indeed, a job well done…
OrigamiGirl – Glad to hear that you found the blog and are enjoying it. Thanks for commenting and for following!

Bravo Alexander. Wow. Great idea, perfecty executed. Justin, if you were referring to Septième Largeur’s boots as the other camo patina, know that they are nothing like Alexander’s pair. Don’t get me wrong – I’m a big fan of Septième Largeur (and a customer and a neighbor) but their camo boots didn’t look so hot in the window. They were like a Jackson Pollock painting while Alexander clearly put a lot of work into getting the camo just right. Alexander did you consult the great book on camouflage released by Maharishi a few years ago?
Derek in Paris
DerekParis – Thanks for clarification Derek….I was referring to the SL one’s….

I love your Camouflage Patina! How much do you charge for a pair?
Cheers
Haydn..
Haydn Thompson – I believe that Alexander charges €70/patina…
