I have always had a love/hate relationship with what goes on at the infamous Pitti Uomo. As a trade show it is absolutely brilliant and I have always enjoyed that side of it and all of the networking involved, getting many brands and people from all over the world into one beautiful place to exchange ideas and share information. But the downside of it is the materialistic and shallow peacocking side that has somewhat overruled the idea of what Pitti really is: a fantastic trade show. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t think that there is anything wrong with dressing up nicely and getting your picture taken because you have great style, but the problem is the amount of people that take it to a whole other level, going completely overboard and doing exactly what the video describes which to me is simply ridiculous. And while the video shows a great amount of it, you can’t really begin to completely fathom the complete audacity of it until you have been there and witnessed with your own eyes.

But I guess like all things in this world, there is always a positive and negative to all that goes on. At the end of the day there is nothing malicious about it all but it is sad (at how egocentric people can be) and funny at the same time (for how ridiculous many people look). But hey, such is life!!
