I love all shoe styles. Dress shoes became my passion because that was the job that I was in and saw a need to make a change in that industry but always loved my casual shoes too, from Nike’s to Sperry boat shoes to Vans, Timberlands, and even Belgian sneakers. I see a need for all depending on mood, environment, and practicality.
I often find myself on weekends not wanting to wear leather-soled shoes, but also not wanting to wear sneakers per se. I frequently end up just throwing on the sneakers as I don’t have to think much about it and am usually in the suburbs doing suburban things i.e. grocery shopping, walking in parks, running errands, etc.

I have been yearning for a shoe that fits that weekend lifestyle as I live in dress shoes Mon-Fri and look to be more relaxed when running around with my family. The older I get the lazier I get. Just being honest. And the lazier I get the more I gravitate towards shoes without laces and shoes not in calfskin i.e. that I don’t have to polish. Blasphemy one might say, but the reality is that!
I have always loved the idea of the Belgian loafer. But I never wanted to make one just like everyone else. At first, I thought about making a welted one, but that never really took off as I just love my butterfly loafers too much and want them to reign supreme in the J.FitzPatrick collection. So I made Belgian sneakers to try and blend multiple ideas into one.

I realized that I had not put some of my tweeds to good use as they had just been collecting dust in the warehouse. So I decided to knock out a few birds in one stone by creating this fun and playful Belgian sneaker, The Ellensburg, in one of my limited edition Holland & Sherry Tweeds. The only downside is that there is a finite amount of tweed left so I thought I would offer a one-time run of this combination to kick off this new Belgian sneaker model.
Therefore, the new Ellensburg Belgian sneakers are on currently Pre-Sale. That means we will collect orders until the end of June and then place the order on July 1st for an early September arrival.
For all Pre Sale’s you can either leave a 50% deposit (with balance to pay before shipment) or pay upfront and get a 10% discount.
