Blue is going to be the new black, mark my words. Obviously it is not going to replace black in the business setting but I think that we are going to be seeing a lot more of it. I was talking about this to a gentleman the other day about my blue suede oxfords and it was refreshing to meet someone else who actually shared my affinity with the color blue and the thought that it too should be more in circulation within the footwear industry. And it’s funny that I have now seen two very casual models, both boots, this season coming in a nice blue leather. This one here by Meermin is especially interesting as the blue that they use is quite vibrant, not one that would ever be mistaken for black as you might find with a dark navy leather. Now I just hope to see it in the Spring/Summer 2014 in some oxford models which will hopefully equate to seeing them on the feet of men who wear suits!
Are these MTO? I dont see them on their website.
yes they are MTO
Like ’em. Although it seems they’re more purple-ish, here. They’re beauts, any old how.
purple-y blue!
Viberg (viberg.com) has been doing blue lately. Here is on of there latest. From Viberg “Navy shell – pre orders soon”: http://instagram.com/p/h1YAiZleuR/#
I know that with tuxes, Midnight Blue can be considered to be blacker than black because true black can look a bit green under certain lighting conditions. I wonder if the same would hold true for a very dark blue shoe, or if the different texture says otherwise.
I would imagine so….I am sure that a dark navy leather shoe with a good shine would look just fine at a black tie event
