Landry Lacour – Something Different

Landry Lacour - Something Different

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Landry Lacour, a French patina artist, working out of Belgium. He passed by G&H to put a long time web relationship to rest, and thus commence a personal one. He was a very nice gentleman, who obviously loved shoes and what he does to them. He explained to me that more than just adding a patina to a shoe, what he does is like to create depth and play with the lines of the shoe. That being, when one makes a last, there are certain curves that one creates in order to accentuate the elegance of the shoe. With these curves, Landry then likes to play with the dye to thus further accentuate and bring out the shape of the shoe, as he so eloquently explained to me. He really takes it seriously and it’s always nice to meet other people with such passion for their trade, particularly when it involves shoes! One day soon, when I have tired myself of a pair of shoes, I will definitely be sending him one to re-vamp, possibly giving something similar to the lovely loafer above…..

  1. I predict you’ll be wearing loafers exactly like that on the same day you voluntarily get your nose pierced with a pork rib.

Hmmm. Yes, I get it, but…the jury’s still out on this one.

  2. These shoes are just not quite on the mark, too messy and over-worked. But I’m sure there are others I would like.

On the other hand, that suit is a hundred kinds of awesome and you know it. 🙂
