Well, it has been an interesting season as half of my A/W15 stock was released back in September and the rest of it just came in. This was due to a massive delay from the American Tannery Horween, who is famous for their Cordovan and Chromexcel leathers. And naturally all of the shoes that were late came from the use of the Chromexcel leather, in dark brown, burgundy and black. To top it off, there was not enough leather to make all of what I ordered. But at last, they are here and in stock and ready to be purchased! So here is a breakdown of them all:

  1. Snoqualmie in Burgundy Chromexcel (as shown in main image) and below. It comes with the two sets of flat laces that are shown below. The color is more accurate to the main image at the top of the page (but those laces are not included). This did really well in our Rugged Brown color and thought that a nice burgundy option would also be appreciated.

2. Mercer (updated Duck Boot) in Black and Burgundy Chromexcel – I had always loved the look of the classic duck boot by LL Bean but never found it very practical for anything outside of puddle jumping so decided to do something about it by designing my own interpretation of it, using existing patterns and lines from my balmoral boots. Instead of adding a leather/formal sole to them, I decided to keep them somewhat casual by using an extra light weight rubber sole that allows for a lot of comfort and the ability to dress them down with jeans.

3. Holman in Coffee Roasted Chromexcel on double leather sole — Brogue boots are great for the adverse weather and while the Holman is not a new model for us, adding a double leather sole and some proper adverse weather resistant leather has given it a new look! Don’t miss out as the leather was limited in this boot so once a size is gone, it won’t be coming back until next year.

Lastly, but mostly certainly not least is our latest collaboration with Dandy Shoe Care. We will keep this brief as it deserves it’s own post, but for now here are some tidbits and photos of the new “David” Boot x Dandy Shoe Care Patina. And remember that these are just two examples of the infinite possibilities that can be done in patina. Scour the internet for more ideas on what you could achieve!
