When I lived in London, everything was about dress shoes. I was immersed in the world of classic style. Working on Savile Row and walking Jermyn St almost daily, while running a dress shoe brand, meant that all I saw and thought about was welted footwear. Interestingly, while still running that same brand, but having moved back to the US around 8 years ago, my world still revolves around dress shoes–especially as I write this blog–but I am recently finding myself discovering sectors of the menswear industry I never previously looked at. The Heddels & Crown Northampton Collab is the perfect example of that.
Having joined Kutoku (an affiliate site for creators and brands), I have discovered brands that I never knew existed, but also brands that maybe I had heard of but didn’t put much thought into. Admittedly, Crown Northampton was one of those brands. So when I signed on, the brand coordinators immediately thought that Crown would be a good fit for my blog and coordinated a pair for review. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the pair that I reviewed. So much so that I will certainly keep and wear them.
It made me remember that while dress shoes hold a special place in my heart, the reality is that I love all shoes and have always loved other styles of footwear. During my time in London, I was so engulfed in the dressier side of the menswear industry, being that I had to wear leather-soled welted shoes day in and day out. It was nearly mandatory!
But being back Stateside, my world has become more relaxed, and now I want to expand my horizons and explore other parts of the shoe industry. And the new Heddels & Crown Northampton Collab blends two things I have always loved: denim and sneakers. As a bonus, they include naval colors.
These are awesome sneakers, and if I didn’t already have about 60 pairs, I would definitely want to add one to my collection. I really like the white version; those are definitely up my alley and something I would easily find myself sporting regularly. The black version is nice, too. It’s certainly more safe and easier to wear for the average guy. I love collaborations, especially when done right. The Heddels & Crown Northampton Collab was done properly. Well done to both of them!
