Even though we are approaching Autumn’s colder weather, we still have some lovely Sunny days ahead. The new Carmina Belgian loafers are a great option for those who live in warmer climates, wear loafers all year round, or simply like a good Belgian loafer style. I just recently discovered these, and they caught my eye for two reasons: The tonal piping is super sleek, elegant, and I love the last shape. When it comes to loafers, I am quite picky with the last shape. The Uetam is a classic round, and their new Sineu last is equally elegant.

What really captured me was the braided versions. We all know I am partial to a nice braided loafer style, and it is not often that you see a Belgian loafer with braided leather. That is a rare yet very cool combination of styles. Being that I like both ideas, I find that they blend harmoniously. Now, it makes me wonder what they would look like with a tassel attached to them.
Carmina continues to innovate with this new Belgian loafer, and as this is the popular style in recent years, it is no wonder they decided to get on board with this new range. Let’s just hope they start bringing some new cool colorways for Spring. Would love to see a nice, dark green suede, and/or a lovely navy suede braided. That would be something!

One thing to note, the classic Belgian loafers in suede are Blake constructed and therefore priced a tad lower at $475, while the braided options are Goodyear welted and priced accordingly, at $630. Not an easy swallow for what many consider a ‘casual’ style, but Camina brings the quality, and those prices are duty-and-shipping included, so no surprises later!
If you are like me, the brown braided one has probably caught your attention, too!

I love these. They are extremely well-executed and one of the best new models I’ve seen recently. This is the direction I wish Crockett and Jones would go with their new models.
yea, this amoung the best renditions of the Belgian style for sure
Hi Justin
l am glad l came across your article as l am considering getting myself a Belgian loafer pair. l am a loyal carmina customer but l would like your opinion on which would be a better buy
1. This Carmina Belgian or
2. The Baudoin & Lange Sagan
I didn’t find the Sagan loafer too comfortable to be honest, not at least in their leather sole. I have tried some of the newer rubber options. I would opt for the Carmina. I know that their leather soles are at least comfortable. Best of luck!
