Bridlen’s new Cordovan Collection, The Founders Limited, is gaining ground in the shoe world. Utilizing the rising Shinki-Hikaku tannery’s cordovan, who has also been gaining popularity in the shoe industry, Bridlen offers six models in this exclusive collection. While the collection is short and sweet I like that they offer the bolder colors of green and blue on top of the classic options found everywhere else.
It is nice to see cordovan becoming more accessible. Twenty years ago Horween nearly had a monopoly on this small industry which made it hard for smaller, upcoming brands to take part. Thanks to tanneries like Shinki, brands such as Bridlen who offer introductory pricing can also give that same price-ratio to a product usually quite expensive. Bridlen’s cordovan models are all at $599.
I never got into cordovan myself but have always appreciated this market and how vibrant the colors are, especially the exotic colors such as the navy and green. That green derby boot is something special, vibrant and unmistakable. It is no wonder that this line has been a succes. Great pricing, classic models and solid making are a triple threat. And Bridlen tackles them with ease.
Make sure to come see Bridlen in London at the upcoming London Super Trunk Show this May 4th or in NYC for the NYC Super Trunk Show, scheduled for October 5th.
