Bridlen returns to the US for the upcoming NY Super Trunk Show on October 5th, 2024. It is a great opportunity to come see one of India’s more exciting makers in the world of welted footwear.
If you haven’t heard of Bridlen yet, which should not be the case if you read this blog, I highly suggest checking them out. You can see all of my articles here.
They have been a huge part of our Super Trunk Series in the last few years and have been a very popular table at the shows. People’s curiosity has been high and for good reason. Bridlen makes one of the best value-for-money footwear out there, with the average price of a closed-channel shoe from their main line at only $250! And the handgrade collection, the Founders Line, with beveled waists and a much finer trim at only $298. It is very impressive, to be honest. Let’s look at the models below.

The Main Line – Priced From $250
Bridlen’s Main Line offers classic models with closed-channel soles for a very reasonable price. You will have less ‘features’ so to speak on this line with straight waists and a single-colored sole bottom, but nonetheless, a great return on your investment for shoes priced as such. See some examples here.

The Founders Line – Priced From $298
Bridlen’s Founders Line offers you a more refined shoe. The lasts are more shapely, you get a rounded sole waist and dual coloring for a more sleek look. The sole edge’s are beveled at the waist and overall you have sleeker models with finer trims. And only from $298! It is a hard proposition to beat! You can also access the Cordovan series priced just under $600 in this line. Great stuff from the Founders Line. See some examples below.

If you are around the NYC area in early October make sure to come check out Bridlen’s return to the US. It is a great opportunity to try on the shoes, see the models in person, talk with the founders of the brand, and really get a better feel for the shoes overall.

Which brand makes better shoes. Bridlen or Blkbrd?
I don’t make such comparisons as there is no ‘one better than the other’. There is only which one you prefer based on design/fit/feel etc. They both make solid welted shoes using similar quality leathers. Outside of the that the rest is opinion.
