There are some new Alden Two Tone Shoes at Leffot that just dropped for their Spring Collaboration. While most of you will know that I am not some lover of Alden on the whole, I do appreciate certain styles they came out with. This new two-tone cream suede series is right up my alley despite the last shapes not really being my speed. But that is arguably less important than the fact that it is always good to see unique, playful, and thoughtful shoe releases that are not the same old boring stuff time again.
Leffot has been carrying Alden for a while now and each year they come up with exclusive offerings for the West Village shoe shop of NYC that was among the pioneers of the multi-brand boutique shoe stores that carried offerings no one else was. Some years they do the typical Alden stuff that their cult following loves and other years, well, for me they do cool stuff like this. I really love the tassel loafers. And even though I do not like the last shape, I just might wear them because they are so cool despite that. They are what actually attracted me to this collection.
It is refreshing to see something playful coming from an American company. Everything is so pumped up Americana style these days that is quite overkill. Our emphasis on crappy boots with bad patterns has to stop. And while Alden is the king of American-style boots, they at least produce good ones that are worth their salt. But I will be pleasantly surprised to continue to see stuff like this coming from American shoe brands.
I know that the owner of Leffot likes it playful and can only hope that his influence on the American company’s releases will help steer them toward more of these types of collections. It would be great to see American men dressing like they did prior to the hippy generation. I won’t hold my breath on that one but I can sure practice hope!
If you are like me and appreciate a nice two-tone shoe and light-colored suedes to match a soft-toned Summer attire, well then head to the link below to sink your teeth into a pair!
