The Second-Hand shoe market is big right now and Abbot’s Shoes is leading that drive in the UK. With 900 pairs in stock and counting, I dare say that the selection is plentiful and surely there is something for you. And even if you are not in the market to buy, even better is unloading your pairs off on them and either giving them a commission of sales or completely getting rid of them through a buyout. Either way, if you have shoes just sitting around collecting dust you cannot really go wrong.
As the internet grows and people are finding ways to secure high-end brands at low prices, this market will continue to thrive. Especially as many used shoes these days are nothing more than tried on briefly, used for a photo shoot, or simply worn for less than a day’s use. And apparently, a lot of people don’t mind saving a few hundred bucks for buying them like this. It’s not my thing personally, but I do love to sell my used shoes, so can certainly appreciate that aspect of it!
Abbot’s Shoes is also our newest addition to our London Super Trunk Show, happening on May 13th in South Regent St, London. They join us as a partner and we are really excited to have them and see all that they bring on the day, which we feel will be a great part of the show going forward.
Abbot’s Shoe will have its own section and will bring a bunch of its shoes to sell at the event. They will also host a secondhand shoe marketplace where visitors may bring their own shoes to sell at the event. This is what is really exciting and I hope that many of you bring your own pairs to sell. Who knows, you might do well and then be able to place an order with one of the shoe brands attending! 😉 You will have at least 1000 people able to view your pair(s). This a great opportunity to clear some room in your wardrobe.
For those who want to sell shoes, email [email protected], put ‘Shoegazing Market’ in the subject line, and you will get some more information about the practicalities. But to summarise, you will get a seller number to label each shoe with, the label should also state the size and price. You then drop the shoes off at the event between 11.00-11.30 on May 13th and pick up any unsold pairs preferably after 18.00. Abbot’s will take 20% of the sale cost, where much of it goes to cover payment costs and for their work during the day. Any shoes left behind will end up on Abbot’s Shoes’ website.
