Yeossal has introduced a new full strap loafer into their collection: The Hooper II. It is the second variation of their penny loafer style. The first ‘Hooper’ was a classic penny loafer with the band floating on the facing piece. The Hooper II is a full strap loafer, where the strap extends all the way to the bottom of the quarters (the sides of the shoe). They updated the last as well, putting it on a soft chisel shape.
The Hooper II is a story of ‘classic-to-modern’ change. The classic round style updated to the modern ‘sharper’ chisel last and the full strap style that is quite popular today. It was smart of them to add this update and give the clients more than just one option of penny loafer. The only downside I see on their site is that they only show it in suede and that might lead people to think that it is only offered in suede.

I wished Yeossal catalogued more of the MTOs that they create. This would really show people what can be done. I know they make a lot more than they show. I also know that this is a lot easier said than done. In my own brand, I have 1000’s of images and hundreds of MTO variations that have not added to my own website. And I wish I had!
Yeossal has more new shoes coming. While things might have appaered to slow down, in the background they continue to progress. They have actually just moved their shop location in Singapore to my favorite area, Boat Quay. Some leadership changes caused delays in production and model implementations and they are now getting back on track.
If you are ever heading to Singapore I highly suggest giving Yeossal a visit. Their offering is top and I love all of the clothes that I have made with them. Naturally, their shoes are pretty impressive too!
