Here we take a look at TLB Mallorca’s latest drop: the deconstructed Kiowa loafer in a Blake stitch construction.
Full disclosure, I am not a huge blake stitch construction fan. And it is not because TLB is a sponsor of The Shoe Snob Blog that I say the following. But these Kiowa loafers were surprisingly nice and comfortable. Honestly, I like them a lot more than I thought I would and am even contemplating wearing them on the weekends, or maybe on holiday. And that is saying a lot, truth be told. I guess my old age (j/k I’m super young haha) is affecting my tastes regularly!
They are a super comfortable Summer Style loafer that is surely set to be a real winner at under $300. They fit like a glove and according to TLB, this is due to the Kiowa construction that is stated on their site as ‘consisting of a loafer sewn entirely by hand. Its leather completely wraps the entire perimeter of the shoe, removing the need for an assembly insole. The shoe is lighter and much more flexible, making it fit like a glove.‘
They offer the Kiowa series in 13 variations between a bit loafer style, a penny loafer style, and a plain moc toe style. If you are looking for a nice kick-around loafer for smart casual wear, this is a great option. I am now thinking about that brown suede version as that would really complement my Summer looks.
