In this unboxing video, we take a look at Juyi Calton shoes. Juyi Calton is a newish brand on the scene that comes from Nigeria and not only serves the continent of Africa but anyone worldwide who appreciates the flexibility and sleekness of Blake stitched footwear. Today we look at their braided Palermo loafer and discuss the brand as a whole.
The Juyi Calton ‘Palermo’ braided loafer is a solid shoe for the price of $270. Any braided loafer lover who appreciates flexible footwear is going to enjoy this shoe. They are made in Italy and offer a nice, comfortable fit. They sent me a half size down from my normal size and it hit the nail on the head. It hugged my foot in the way that I like it to fit. My only concern would be for someone with a higher instep as my feet are quite shallow and this fit snug.
The quality of the leather on these Juyi Calton shoes was quite average but I would not have expected better at this pricepoint. Also, for braided styles, I do not feel that it is necessary to have a super high-quality polished calfskin as you would for a classic dress shoe. It’s almost wasteful. What you need is something that won’t easily snap and will be comfortable. The Palermo braided loafer appeared to have both.
Juyi Calton even has a shop in Nigeria so if you are based there and/or find yourself visiting, make sure to check them out in person.

For $270 this appears to be a respectable shoe. I also prefer some cork in the foot bed. Are your toes feeling crowded with this snug fit? I tried a pair of loafers a half size down from my normal size. While I had a snug fit in the beginning, (toe area) after wearing them in for a while they seem spot on most times.

Hey Arthur, no the toes have toom. They are snug through the body, feeling supportive. That is what I liked
