The welted shoe world has gone the way of the soft-soled loafer as an addition to their classic models. It is a trend that is here to stay and TLB Mallorca’s Comfort Collection proves this. There are few brands as classic as TLB Mallorca. They do not often stray from classically styled dress shoe models. Seeing that they went down the path of this new trend means that it is here to stay. I can only imagine every other welted brand to soon follow suit!

TLB’s new line has some lovely models in some very unique colors. I quite like the ‘Olive’ in the 2009 model which looks more like a sea green that you would find in the Caribbean waters. A color also fit for use in any of the Caribbean islands or any tropical-style climate area, for that matter. For as classic as TLB Mallorca is, it is quite refreshing for the fact that in this collection, they actually went quite bold. The 5 or 6 pastel-inspired colors on some of these new comfort models is quite inspiring and good to see someone pushing that in a sometimes overly classic industry. Why can’t you wear black leather shoes in the week and pastel blue ones on the weekend?

The sole on TLB Mallorca’s comfort collection models is thicker than your average soft-soled loafer that we commonly see now. I am curious to know if that provides more comfort to the competition’s models. I love the idea of the soft-soled loafer but often find a lack of support in the thinner sole options. A thicker sole, in theory, should provide more support and comfort. Considering the name of the collection, I imagine these do just that!
If you are a keen supporter of TLB Mallorca, you should be pleased to see this new offering!

Just got my 2009 in olive (admittedly more like sea green) and they are beautiful and fit very well with a half size smaller than my regular TLB shoe size (43 instead of 43.5)
