Dear Readers,
I am finally back in town, after about a 24 hour (including 8 hours lost) day of traveling, and to be honest I feel good to be back. For all of those that have written to me, but have yet to hear a response, I promise that I will get on top of the emails and respond to all of you. I thank you for your patience. And another thing, please do send me your pictures of your shoe shining for my new contest. I have only received a few entries so far and need more in order to make it interesting!
As of lately, I have found myself more and more attracted to suede shoes and I can’t really say why. Thinking about it, the suede shoes that I have been attracted to have all been of unique colors and putting a hard thought to it now, I feel as if those unique colors come out far more interesting (i.e. subdued) than their leather counterparts would. Take the green and the gray shoes presented here (by Caulaincourt) for example. If they had both been in the same shades but in leather, they would stand out far more and not be as versatile (harder to wear casually), particularly that green as it is quite bright. But gray suede in particular, I am finding myself gravitate towards more and more. Something about it makes it so desirable to me. I feel that I could wear it with literally anything, and I mean it. Jeans, khakis, cords, dress trousers….it could easily be paired with all of that if put together right and versatility now days is something that I am finding myself appreciating more and more. Don’t get me wrong, I love my bright bold colors, but as closet space diminishes and wet days never cease, the deeper and more versatile colors are starting to stand tall for me….

These shoes are elegant and I’m sure they would make any man look appealing. The colors are vintage and those are the ones I’d like. Thanks shoe snob!
Hi Justin
I’d really like to get a pair of white/grey/off-white bucks, preferably either cap toe or wing tip. Cole Haan do a nice looking pair with a blue sole, but these are only available in the US.
Do you know of anyone that does some that are available in the UK?
Thanks
Owen
OwenB – To be honest, your guess is as good as mine. I have seen loads of plain bucks but not with any cap stitching….what about these? These are the best that i have seen….. trip to Paris? Or maybe you can buy them online…
