These Ichigo Ichie spectators are right up my alley! That is exactly the kind of shoe that I love to see being produced and even more so being ordered. Spectators have always had a special place in my heart. I often wished that they were more commonplace as they once used to be in society, for both men and ladies alike. I think that they look good worn formally but also look great with a pair of jeans.
This pair has a story. The model was first introduced by a certain client who wanted to emulate a spectator from the 1930’s. So Lee Trung, founder of Ichigo Ichie, worked with the client to recreate the idea by adding his own personal touches to the model. As you can see, it has very special lines that are not often seen in other models. The cap design is especially unique. You can see that has a sort of soft wing shape that looks more like a hump than anything. I like the feel it gives off. An inbetweener so to speak.
The original model makeup is the one directly above this text with a lovely round last. The contrast on these Ichigo Ichie spectators is more subtle than the featured rendition but both are beautiful in their own right. While I prefer the round last on the original makeup, I cannot get over the vivid color of the calfskin on the featured pair. That model in the round last would be my choice!
The question is, how you would make these?!
