Carmina has recently started offering the leather that took Meermin fans by storm last year and that is the Marbled/Museum Cordovan. So far, it would appear that they only have two colorways available and they are only being offered at the moment via their custom shoes. The colors available are the marbled green as you see here, and the burgundy marbled. There was one that was really cool and that was this bluish/beige combo cordovan that I see has yet to be acquired/offered. Let’s see it if get there and if Carmina might start incorporating this into their RTW collections? That would be cool if they did.
MBShoedoc of IG/FB designed this monkstrap during their Customize launch and I think that it is pretty cool (photos are his of course). It’s definitely bold, that is for sure. I think that if I went for this leather, my two choices would be below renditions that I created on Carmina’s site. I would love this as a boot with a suede upper and contrast sole. A dark brown sole would probably be more appropriate but the natural sole would be far more fun 🙂 And I think that a loafer would be really nice. I would be rocking that with jeans on a daily in Summer.
Their site can be so addicting when you sit there and try to create model and model with endless possibilities. I wonder how long one person has spent on there? I bet 5 or 6 hours. Who is going to claim that!

Thanks for the shout out Justin. The green shell is undeniably unique and bold but after living with it for a while it is a tad difficult to pair and doesn’t dress up quite as well. I really like your idea of a boot and think that is perhaps the best use for this leather. The loafer idea is good too. Luckily I think this single monkstrap could work with jeans and casual chinos similarly to the loafer. Sorry I missed this article until now.
my pleasure Michael! Hope that you have been enjoying them!
