The Bespoke Shoemaking Course at Schola Academy, in conjunction with Stefano Bemer, has recently been updated. What previously used to be the option for taking two courses of 10 weeks is now one larger commitment to undergo the full operation of 20 weeks, giving you the knowledge you require to become your own bespoke maker. I think this was a smart move, for both Schola Academy and the potential students. You now commit further to your dreams and it causes less room to waste time and money on a shorter course that might not set you up as well as one might need to get to the next level.
At the end of the course, you essentially create a capsule collection, which I think is so cool. Not only does it allow you to play with your creativity but gives you a little benchmark to get your own collection going if you want to further your path as a shoemaker. I love to see what the students come up with. I wrote about this a few months back and I was really impressed with what I saw. And I love Schola Academy for this. They are providing the path to your dreams and making it easy to do so. When I was looking for that apprenticeship, it was only fate and blessings that it magically found its way to me.
They have opened up for their new course starting in September of 2023 and are taking applicants to the course. If you have been wanting to undergo a bespoke shoemaking course, there is no better place to do so. No less because it takes place in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! And this is not to mention the 11 other courses they also offer.
There is so much to learn there!
