Altan Bottier is doing some special things lately. Not that they haven’t always but as of lately they have gone above and beyond for their clients, which leaves open the door for some very potential future projects if others find this intriguing, as well.
So a client wanted to somehow transfer the Meloncolia Engraving by Albrecht Dürer o to a pair of shoes. Not an easy feat but one that did not stump Altan from being able to achieve the request. But it took some thinking because to do it as re-painting the piece of art would be nearly impossible not to mention would probably make the shoes more expensive than practical.
So the great minds at Altan recalled the old form of transferring imagery using the Cyanotype process. A process that has been around since the 19th century and clearly is still working very well in the 21st century. And to top it off, this process also helps Altan as they didn’t even have to mess around with the color since the Cyanotype process naturally leaves this blue hue leftover.
Now, I am not a huge lover of art in the sense I would spend big money on it or personally want it on a pair of shoes but I think this is a very cool “outside of the box” project that I am sure many art-lovers would highly appreciate. Just acquiring the print will be the hurdle 😉
Enjoy two great art forms, blended to make one!
